The Photograph as Contemporary Art
By Charlotte Cotton
I opened the book and read the first 10 pages. I must admit that I felt totally lost even so I tried very hard to understand the thoughts behind the ‘contemporary approach’ to photography.
Perhaps I am not there yet and contemporary art should only be attempted at a later stage once the basic understanding of the photographic history is in place.
I am going to stop reading this book and going to first try ‘The Photograph: A Visual and Cultural History’ which should cover the history up to the 1970’s.
